CKYH freezes Far East-US east coast AWE6 service through winter season
SHIPPIING lines belonging to the CKYH alliance - Cosco, NYK Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping - are suspending for at least the slack winter season their Far East-US east coast (AWE6) service via Panama (AWE 6) just four months after the service commenced.
The last sailing is scheduled to depart from Shenzhen-Yantian on September 28. This service is operated with nine ships ranging in size from 3,400 to 4,800 TEU, with MOL taking slots.
Alphaliner reports that two of the ships deployed on the service will be returned as their charters expire soon. The seven other units are either owned or under long-term charters.
