World Flight Services signed as ground handles for TAP Portugal in US
WORLDWIDE Flight Services (WFS) has won a two-year ramp handling and passenger contract with TAP Portugal at Newark to serve the airline in America.
WFS already provides cargo handling services for Portugal's national airline in Boston, Newark and Miami but this new contract is the first ramp handling and passenger contract with TAP. The airline currently operates 10 Airbus A340 and A330 flights a week linking Newark with Lisbon and Porto.
Under the terms of the agreement, effective October 1, WFS will provide loading and unloading services for baggage, cargo and mail, cabin cleaning, aircraft towing and marshalling.
At Newark, WFS also represents LOT Polish Airlines and Singapore Airlines for ramp and passenger services, and Jet Airways for ramp operations.
