Range of Asia-Europe/Red Sea rate increases coming in next two weeks
Hapag-Lloyd levy a general rate increase (GRI) on cargo of US$500 per TEU from the Far East to Mexico, Central America and South America West Coast from October 6, the company announced.
The Hamburg-based carrier now levies a $300 per TEU increase from the Far East, excluding Japan, to the Red Sea with another rate increase of $400 per TEU from Japan to the Red Sea from October 1.
The United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) will levy a GRI for all cargo from North Europe to Indian subcontinent at $100 per TEU and $150 per FEU from October 1.
