Maximus Air consolidates operations, brings services under one roof
ABU-DHABI's all-cargo airliner, Maximus Air, plans to consolidate its European operations through a new Eastern Europe hub in close to Kiev in Ukraine to replace the company's existing outstations such as its United Kingdom branch.
The move comes in the wake of establishing Maximus Airlines last year, a company wholly-owned by Maximus Air. The operation received its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) in November 2011.
"In the first few months this consolidation has already had a significant, positive impact on our operations across central Europe and eastern Europe optimising the availability of aircraft and increasing flights," said Maximus Air president and CEO Fathi Hilal Buhazza.
"Additionally, we will now be able to target an increased share of the outsized cargo business - our specialty - in eastern and central Europe as well as general all round increase in capacity," Mr Buhazza said.
Said Antonov & Ilyushin Fleet director Tony Sanders: "Previously we had to outsource to other suppliers, virtually all aspects of our operations. This meant we were never totally in control even though we had forged a very good working relationship with those suppliers. Now as Maximus Airlines can have all these elements in house."
