Fesco H1 up 11.7pc to 239,000 TEU, sales rise 21pc to US$582 million
RUSSIA's Fesco posted a year-on-year 11.6 per cent increase in maritime container movement to 238,751 TEU in the first half of 2012 as revenues rose 21 per cent to US$582.5 million, the company said.
This included the share from foreign trade, which was down two per cent to 206,477 TEU, and cabotage, up 10 per cent to 32,274 TEU, the company announced.
Fesco's first half intermodal volumes increased 12 per cent to 882,129 TEU. Rail transport of non-containerised cargo amounted to 12.6 million tonnes against 12.9 million tonnes in he first half of 2011. Intermodal and freight forwarding combined was up six per cent to 84,232 TEU.
Fesco's Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port volume increased 13 per cent to 219,919 TEU in the first half while handling of non-containerised cargo grew 17 per cent to 1.8 million tonnes year on year.
Fesco, formerly the Far Eastern Shipping Company, owns its own fleet of one million tons deadweight and manages a diversified fleet of its own rolling stock of over 17,000 units. It also owns 50,000 TEU, the combined capacity of port handling facilities, which exceeds 1.6 million TEU.
