Kuehne + Nagel to provide healthcare logistics to Bayer in Chile
SWISS logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded an exclusive contract to manage the national distribution centre of Bayer Healthcare Chile, including warehousing, laboratory testing, quality control and distribution.
According to the agreement, the Swiss logistics giant will handle all of Bayer products in Chile and also products of other pharmaceutical companies on behalf of Bayer. Furthermore, the scope of responsibilities covers value-added services such as repackaging and labelling as well as special promotions preparation.
Another task will be to perform laboratory tests of the products that are requested by the Chilean import law. With a team of 50 dedicated staff, Kuehne + Nagel will operate within Bayer's prime facility in San Joaquin, Santiago, in a 4,000-square-metre area. This logistics site encompasses five "CoolZones" for temperature-controlled cargo.
