Xiamen's fruit imports from Taiwan up 5pc in first-half year
SOUTHEAST China's Xiamen customs posted a 56.9 per cent increase year on year in imports of Taiwan fruit to 5,000 tonnes, accounting for 42 per cent of the mainland's total from Taiwan and ranking first in China, reports Xinhua.
Xiamen custom's total fruit imports from different area grew 13.4 per cent to 22,000 tonnes with a value of US$19.06 million, up 12.2 per cent. The imports from the ASEAN countries went up 5.1 per cent to 16,900 tonnes. The customs' main import fruit categories are pitaya, pineapple and bananas.
