Fujian provincial port cargo volume sets record as it rises 11.9pc in July

SEAPORTS in south eastern Fujian province handled 36.84 million tonnes of freight in July, growing 11.9 per cent year on year to a new monthly high this year, rising 6.3 per cent over June's throughput.

Container throughput of these ports climbed 10.5 per cent to 942,500 TEU. Domestic trade cargo increased 15.8 per cent to 22.15 million tonnes.

From January to July, collective throughput tonnage of these ports increased nine per cent year on year to 229 million tonnes. Container throughput grew 10.4 per cent to 5.82 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo went 11.3 per cent up to 93.65 million tonnes.
