FedEx expands versatile mobile applications to wide range of smart phones

FEDEX Express has expanded its FedEx Mobile applications and added a number of new tools to make "shipping-on-the-go easier than ever".

It said its FedEx Mobile website has expanded to 206 countries, including 30 markets in Asia Pacific, and is available in 25 languages. Additionally, the company's mobile application is now available for the iPad and Android users and already includes applications for the iPhone, iPod touch and BlackBerry smartphones.

"With the number of smart phone users in Asia forecast to hit 347 million by 2015 (according to a Credit Suisse report in February 2010), FedEx recognises the demand from customers across the region and around the globe for greater access to our products and services, regardless of their physical location or what device they use," said David Cunningham, president for the Asia Pacific region.

A statement said that with the company's new smart phone solutions and expansions, customers can obtain accurate and reliable rates; track by phone a shipment's status, including when it is in-transit or delivered; schedule a pickup by entering an address and shipment information; and locate the company's nearest station, drop-box, authorised shipment centre or World Service Centre.

Customers can download the FedEx Mobile application at App Store, Android Market and BlackBerry App World.
