DHL quarterly profit soars 20pc to US$166.7 billion as revenues jumps 7.3pc
GERMANY's Deutsche Post-DHL has posted a 20 per cent second quarter profit increase to EUR137 million (US$166.7 billion), drawn on revenues of EUR13.7 billion, up 7.3 per cent.
With cheap air freight rates and currency savings the operating profit surged from EUR115 million in second quarter last year to EUR137 million in the second quarter of this year.
However the supply chain division's operating profit fell by EUR10 million to EUR101 million.
Said CEO Frank Appel: "We continue to perform well. The excellent market positions of our brands and divisions in the world's growth markets are paying off. We have a strong foundation for generating long-term improvements in revenues and earnings."
