Hactl welcomes air cadet fact-finding tour at Hong Kong airport

HONG KONG Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), the major air cargo handler at the city's international airport, has welcomed a delegation comprising representatives from the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, the Shandong Aviation Industries Association (SDAIA) and the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps.

The visit to Hactl's Super Terminal 1 was part of a preliminary fact-finding tour of Hong Kong International Airport for the SDAIA and PLAAF, who are working together to develop aviation education for youth in China. "With an aim to promote aviation knowledge and communicate the air force culture, aviation education for youth in China offers training and development opportunities for young people," a Hactl statement said.

Die Hong, Pilaf's deputy director, Military Training Department said: "China's whole aviation industry must grow rapidly to keep pace with market needs over the next decade. Quality aviation experts and various aviation professionals are urgently needed to further enhance growth of China's national power and foster the development of the air force's future development. For this, we need to start developing and training young people today, so as to satisfy the needs in the speedy growth of the aviation industry, bringing benefits to the country's future development."

Gang Tao, deputy chairman of Shandong Youth Aviation Education Steering Committee and the Vice Mayor of Bin Shout City added: "In order to speed up the process of training aviation talent in Shandong, SDAIA is working with PLAAF to set up an experimental unit in Shandong to train young aviation talents. This is something crucial and beneficial to the country, the army and the people. Through this fact-finding tour, we hope to learn from the experience of Hong Kong and provide a better aviation education for youth in Shandong."
