Nigeria fires national port chief, names three new executive directors
NIGERIAN President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed Omar Suleiman, managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in a surprise move seen as a part of a drive towards a more liberal, open economy, reports London's Containerisation International.
Three NPA executive directors have been appointed in his stead: David Omonibeke, executive director of the authority's marine and operations department; Mohammmed Sani Saleh, executive director of engineering and technical services and Olumide Oduntan, executive director of finance and administration.
Mr Oduntan has been the NPA's acting executive director (finance and administration) and he assumes his new responsibilities immediately, said the report.
