CEVA offers customers mobile wireless app for online shipment tracking
CEVA Logistics has launched its first mobile app, CEVA Mobile, to allow 15,000 customers worldwide to track the exact location of their shipments using their iPhones or iPads, covering hundreds of millions of tons of cargo annually.
The new app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the App StoreSM, marks the company' s latest move in using technology to provide added-value services to customers. The application promises to be a simple and flexible way to search and retrieve the status of air freight, ocean freight and customs brokerage shipments worldwide. Access to shipment tracking requires the customers' shipment reference or house number.
Said CEVA chief information officer Peter Dew: "This new app is a clear example of how we are using technology and innovation to improve the overall service our customers receive. Visibility is an integral part of any supply chain and this app, in combination with our online CEVA Trak tool, makes it quick and convenient to see exactly where a customer's goods are at any given point in the supply chain."
The company said that further development of the application will include additional functionality, integration of more systems and extending the offering to Android and Blackberry users.
