Tianjin's Binhai New Area to speed up development of traffic infrastructure

TIANJIN'S Binhai New Area plans to speed up the upgrade of the infrastructures including airport, sea port, hi-speed railways, expressways and highways.

Tianjin port's 300,000-tonne navigational channel and the second phase expansion project of the Binhai International Airport are under construction. On the railway sector, a cross-like network comprising of Tianjin-Qinhuangdao passenger line and Beijing-Tianjin extension line will be built.

 

Binhai New Area is the merger of three Tianjin district of Tanggu, Hangu and Dagang. It is the third experimental field of China for more open-up policies after Shenzhen and Shanghai's Pudong New Area.

 

From 2010 to 2011, Binhai New Area launched 204 new or continued projects with a collective investment of CNY240 billion (US$37.58 billion).
