All of Copa Airlines Cargo's rates now available through AFRA
COPA Airlines Cargo has published all of its rates in the Air Freight Rate Application service (AFRA), according to supplier of business information, market data and news to the global cargo industry, OAG Cargo.
This is a key development for OAG Cargo, which is a member of the UBM Aviation Group, as Copa has become the first Latin American airline to publish all of its origin and destination cargo rates in AFRA. This system enables airfreight rates to be communicated between airlines and forwarders, and forwarders that produce sales quotations to be sent electronically to shippers, a press release from OAG Cargo said, also use it.
"This enhanced ease of access to vital information will provide a significant benefit for the freight forwarding community across the whole of Latin America and will encourage other carriers to publish their rates in AFRA as well," the statement said.
Copa Airlines' Pricing assistant manager, Carmen Fanny Gonzalez Acevedo said: "We chose AFRA as a platform because we believe it will significantly help us to raise awareness of the breadth and effectiveness of our service. Operating through our hub of the Americas in Panama, we connect cargo from the North, South, Central and Caribbean regions. It will also allow us to consolidate our relationships with agencies and airlines around the world."
