Chongqing airport's half-year cargo throughput up 23.5pc to 129,000 tonnes

CHONGQING Airport recorded a robust year-on-year increase of 23.5 per cent in its cargo throughput volume to 129,000 tonnes in the first half of this year, according to Xinhua's report.

The boom of Chongqing's IT product manufacturing industry stimulated the growth of international airfreight. In this period, the airport saw an upswing of 140 per cent in its international cargo to 44,000 tonnes.

Chongqing airport is operating a network cover over 100 cities with 17 international freighter services.
