Air China's cargo throughput increases 2.2pc in June to 96,000 tonnes
AIR China's latest operating results show that the carrier moved 96,000 tonnes of freight in June, increasing 2.2 per cent over June 2011 and 0.5 per cent over May.
In the same month, its passenger volume dropped 0.2 per cent year on year but grew 0.3 per cent month to month to 4.01 million persons, according to statistics quoted by Xinhua.
In June, the carrier's cargo turnover increased 2.8 per cent. Cargo load factor fell 2.5 percentage points to 59.6 per cent.
Air China purchased 279,000 tonnes of fuel in June at an average price of CNY7,296 (US$1,144) per tonnes, down five per cent. Overseas fuel purchased price dropped nine per cent to CNY6,290 per tonne. Domestic fuel purchased price fell two per cent to CNY7,897.
