Los Angeles June box volumes up 8.75pc to 696,847 TEU, 6pc in first half
PORT of Los Angeles recently announced that it handled the total container volumes of 696,847 TEU in June, seeing an 8.75 per cent growth year on year from 640,794 TEU last June, said the media release from the port.
The first half of the year also experienced a 6.45 per cent year-on-year rise to 4.01 million TEU from 3.76 million TEU last June.
Import volumes rose six per cent in June to 353,930 TEU from 333,894 TEU in the same period of 2011. Export volumes also grew 6.9 per cent to 174,418 TEU in June compared to 163,137 TEU in the same period last year,
The combined total loaded imports and exports for June increased 6.3 per cent to 528,348 TEU in June from 497,031 TEU last June, while the volume of empties was up 17.2 per cent year on year.
