Air France-KLM's June narrows cargo loss after steep May, April declines
AIR FRANCE-KLM's cargo business dropped 2.8 per cent in June, which was still better than April, down 8.3 per cent and May's year-on-year decline of 8.8 per cent.
Cargo load factor fell to 63.9 per cent at 0.9 per cent decline with Europe RTK dropping to 20.6 per cent and load factor down by 2.2 per cent on same month 2011.
Top regional performers, Americas and Asia Pacific, also dropped in June with the Americas down 4.2 per cent in load factor at 60.7 per cent. Cargo revenue for Asia-Pacific suffered from a drop of 1.7 per cent despite an uplift of 3.6 per cent for its load factor, reports Atlanta-area Air Cargo World.
The Franco-Dutch airline cargo operations struggled in the Caribbean/Indian Ocean with its RTK down by two per cent causing its load factor to drop 1.2 per cent against a capacity increase of 1.1 per cent year on year.
Passenger figures continue to be robust with increase in traffic of 4.6 per cent and a load factor up 2.2 per cent to create a healthy 84.2 per cent.
