Delivery of the 2,554-TEU Rio Anna for Gold Star Line's FAX service
MUENCHMEYER Petersen & Co (MPC) has taken delivery of the 2,554-TEU Rio Anna, the first unit in a two-vessel order placed in January 2008 with the Jiangsu Yangzijiang shipyard in China.
Delivery of the sister ships was originally scheduled for the second half of 2011, following an earlier 12-month delivery postponement in 2009 due to the financial crisis, reports Alphaliner.
The Rio Anna has been chartered by Gold Star Line and will join the carrier's Far East-Africa service (FAX).
