SITC takes delivery of second vessel of twelve 1,100-TEU newbuildings
THE 1,100-TEU SITC Moji, the first of four containerships of this size that were ordered in November 2010 from the Zhejiang Yangfan Shipping Group in China for US$18.1 million each has been delivered.
The newbuilding has already joined SITC's China-Vietnam CJV 3 loop.
According to Alphaliner, it is the second ship to be delivered as part of a 12-ship newbuilding programme, with vessels ranging in size from 1,040-1,100 TEU and including one 953-TEU ship. The carrier started the programme at the end of 2010 and ordered the vessels from three different shipyards in China, Korea and Japan.
The first containership to be built in the series of 12 was the 953-TEU SITC Kwangyang that was delivered by Dae Sun last December.
