Sino-Russian Manzhouli crossing cargo rises 11.9pc in five months
MANZHOULI customs, managing the largest overland checkpoint on the Sino-Russian border, posted a freight volume of 11.34 million tonnes during the first five months of this year, up 11.9 per cent year on year, Xinhua reports.
The railway checkpoint posted an import volume of 6.94 million tonnes, up 8.6 per cent year on year. Exports jumped 30.1 per cent, up to 929,000 tonnes while transshipments increased 16.7 per cent to 3.2 million tonnes.
Export cargo was mainly minerals and light industrial products. Mineral and construction materials increased 24.6 per cent to 236,000 tonnes. Light industrial products grew 21 per cent to 252,000 tonnes.
