Hapag-Lloyd to introduce Asia-Europe PSS & GRI rate hike in August
GERMAN shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has announced it is implementing a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for all cargoes and all container types transported from East Asia (excluding Japan) to North Europe.
The PSS of US$350 per TEU will be in effect from August 1 until September 30, 2012.
In addition, the carrier will introduce a General Rate Increase (GRI) for all cargoes and all container types transported from East Asia (excluding Japan) to North Europe of US$250 per TEU, starting from August 15.
North Europe comprises North West Continent, the UK, Scandinavia, Baltic and European ports of Russia. East Asia comprises Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei and Russian Pacific Ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny.
