Liaoning's 5-month port container volume up 20.1pc to 1.25 million TEU
THE northeastern province of Liaoning's seaports handled 1.25 million TEU in May, up 20.13 per cent year on year and 3.4 per cent more than in April.
Provincial overall cargo seaport volume increased 12.6 per cent year on year and 4.8 per cent over April to 75.35 million tonnes, according to Xinhua.
From January to May, these ports handled a total of 5.72 million TEU, up 21.54 year on year. Their throughput increased 13.58 per cent to 362 million tonnes.
This year, the province is targeting at a container volume of 14 million TEU for the full year. Dalian, one of the major ports in the province, is aiming to achieve a throughput of eight million TEU.
