Tianjin Airport Economy Area emerges as China's new aviation industry base
BEING one of China's new and demonstrative industry base, Tianjin Airport Economy Area is on way of becoming a aviation industry base in China, Xinhua reports.
The area has attracted investors from home and abroad to launch 30 projects there including Aviation Industry Corporation of China's (AVIC) helicopter assembly line and Airbus 320's Tianjin assembly line, which are the two most significant projects of all.
AVIC's helicopter assembly line plans to assemble 20 helicopters this year, 40 per cent will be exported. The A320 assembly line will deliver its 100th aircraft since commencement of operation.
An official from Tianjin government said that the area's plan is to develop itself into largest and most comprehensive aviation industry base in Asia.
In 2011, the area recorded an output of CNY21.64 billion (US$3.4 billion), which climbed 21.33 per cent year on year to a new high. By 2013, its output is expected to reach CNY45 billion.
