Guizhou province's Zunyi airport open to air traffic in July
ZUNYI airport, in south western Guizhou province, is to open to traffic in July, according to Xinhua's report.
The airport will kick off operation by providing flight services to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and will launch services to Kunming, Xiamen, Chengdu and Sanya in the future.
The airport has a runway of 2,800 metres, applicable to aircraft including Boeing 737, Airbus 319, A320 and ERJ 145. By 2020, the airport's passenger throughput will hit 300,000 persons while cargo throughput will reach 2,354 tonnes.
Zunyi Airport is previously a military airport and has been expanded jointly by the local government and Shenzhen Airlines for civil use.
