The Port of Tanjung Priok (Tandjung Priok) is the busiest port in North Jakarta, Indonesia. Managed by the national port company, PT Pelindo, it has been Jakarta's main harbor since the late 1800s.

When the Suez Canal was opened to shipping in 1869, Jakarta's traditional harbor, the Sunda Kelapa was a fish market and not big enough to handle the increased traffic.

Port Commerce
The Luas Kolam Pelabuhan (Wide Pool Port) occupies 424 hectares and berths with 5 to 8 meters depth. Panjang Channel is over 10 miles long. The Port of Tanjung Priok's Panjang Dock houses eight terminals including one for general cargo, one multi-purpose, one for scraps, one for dry bulk, two liquid bulk terminals (one oil products and one for chemicals), one beaching point, and one passenger terminal.

The Port of Tanjung Priok's conventional terminal contains 169 thousand square meters of warehouse and 424 thousand square meters of open yard. The Container Terminal includes 8 square meters of covered storage and almost 60 square meters of container yard.

In 2006, over 38 million tons of cargo passed through the Port of Tanjung Priok. That total included over 10 million tons of containerized cargo, over 10 million tons of dry bulk, 8.5 million tons of liquid cargo, almost 8 million tons of general cargo, and over 1 million tons of bag cargo.

In February 2008, Seatrade Asia reported that the Indonesian government planned to expand the Port of Tanjung Priok (Tandjung Priok). Expansion will include enlarging the canal, deepening the port, and replacing the West Gate breakwater. The first phase is to be completed in 2011.
