The yard manages ship and offshore repair, conversion, newbuilding, manufacture of port handling equipment, steel structure fabrication and spare part supply with an annual repairs more than 100 vessels, keeping close relationships with the major ship owners more than 30 areas and countries such as India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Greece, America and Hong Kong. The yard has successfully completed two FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Off-loading System, 280,000dwt per unit) conversions, and a number of repairs and conversions of jigs and platforms for COSCO, HEBEI OCEAN SHIPPING, Daewoo Heavy Industries and Sam sang Shipbuilding Co.Ltd. The yard has not only converted OBO into double-skin oil tanker for Italy, but also completed Semi-submersible Barge for HHI and TIV -1, the first turbine installation vessel in the world for mayflower energy ltd, which has set up the trademark of SHG Shipyard in the shipping industry.
During 1999-2004, SHG Shipyard had considered development as the theme and adjustment as the main clue for making a strategy which includes: treating shiprepair as key point, developing shipbuilding, expanding ocean engineering and keeping diversified economy. Nowadays, the strategy has been put into effect and SHG Shipyard has a stable situation in production and management. The project of 2600 container vessel newbuilding, 30000 DWT bulk carrier newbuilding, 70000 Mton lifting capacity floating dry dock newbuilding, 74000 DWT self-loader bulk carrier conversion has gone into operation.
