Forword
Market: The economic development of China has boosted the rapid growth of shipping ports and shipbuilding industry. Recognized as a shipping giant and an important shipbuilding power, China is one of the world leaders in terms of its total port capacity and volume of handling.
Policies: The central authorities made the strategic policy in 2003 to rejuvenate the old industrial bases in Northeast China, and to build Dalian into an prominent shipping center in Northeast Asia.
Industry: Dalian is a very important shipbuilding base and port in northeast Asia, and shows great potential in developing port-related industries. Up to 2005, it has attracted over 50 leading logistics and shipping companies to invest here.
Advantages: To promote the development of port, shipping and shipbuilding industries, Dalian government has formulated a number of preferential policies and input a large amount of resources in this regard. Shiport China will become Asia’s leading maritime event as it has enlisted the support from China Association of the Shipbuilding Trade and Dalian Municipal Government.
