Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co,.Ltd. ( to be briefly called as"B.H.I.") is one of the large key-shipyards under the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation ( CSIC ). The business range of B.H.I., with the authorized qualification of import and export trade, is mainly engaged in the businesses of ship-repairing and conversion, shipbuilding, building of and repairing on off-shore projects, building of large-size steel structures and other various non-ship products, designing and building of GRP boats, etc.. 

The B.H.I. is located in Qingdao, which is an opening city in east coast of China, and where, the climate is amenity, dry and feeling-well, with no cruel-heat in summer and with no heavy-frost in winter. All of the main marine classification societies have their offices here and all of the clients from home and abroad can obtain thoughtful and satisfied services here. The B.H.I. wholeheartedly supplies its first class products and services to all of the clients.


In accordance with the developing strategy of CSIC, B.H.I has moved to Haixiwan of Qingdao Economic and Technical Development Zone and began to build Haixiwan Shipbuilding and Ship-repairing Base.

According to the planned program, the Haixiwan Shipbuilding and Ship-repairing Base will have four production sections, ( including shipbuilding section, ship-repairing section, offshore projects and steel structures section, and GRP boat section ) and will have 426 hectares of land, in which, the shipbuilding section will be 252 hectares, the ship-repairing section will be 40 hectares, the offshore projects and steel structures section will be 49 hectares, and the GRP boat section will be 6.8 hectares. The navigation way of the harbor pool will be 350 hectares, the coastline will be 9 km and the total wharf length will be 6 km.

After completion of the project construction, the production capability per year will reach the aims that: the shipbuilding project will be 4,680,000 DWT ( 3,180,000 DWT in the near future ), the turnover of ship-repairing will be 200 million US dollars, the off-shore platform will be 4 sets and the lifeboat will be 500 boats.
