Testing according to new requirements approved the fact that ZALIV shipyard quality is ensured

Performance standard of protective coats (PSPC) for ballast tanks adopted by the International Association of Classification Societies is aimed to the increasing of reliability and effectiveness of anticorrosive protection of steel structures . One of the methods of protective coating quality tests of sea water ballast tanks is the performance of special “salt water test” providing the opportunity to detect coating defects by means of filling the tank with salt water.
Nevertheless these requirements were not extended to the hull of universal container trader by the project 7800 DWT for Bodewes (Holland) built at “ZALIV” the management of the shipyard took the decision to execute the “salt water test” as an additional procedure approving high quality of shipbuilding works. “Salt water test” was performed in nine ballast tanks of this hull according to all necessary requirements of the procedure PPG PMS General Working Procedure Water Ballast Tank Coating.
