Only 2 Orders for Korean Shipbuilders in February
Korean shipbuilders received only two orders in February. Global shipbuilding industry researcher Clarkson said Wednesday only seven shipbuilding contracts were made worldwide last month, with Korea receiving two orders, China four, and Europe one. China led Korea in the number but lagged behind in terms of size or CGT (compensated gross tonnage), which means the ships ordered from Korea cost more.
Worldwide, there were only 18 shipbuilding orders through February, down 96 percent from last year in terms of CGT.
