Vinashin negotiating first VLCC contract
Vietnam’s state run shipbuilder is negotiating for its first VLCC contract, Seatrade Asia Online can exclusively reveal. The largest ships to date that the rapidly evolving builder has on its books are a series of 105,000 dwt aframaxes for state run PetroVietnam. This same company will also be the ‘guinea pig’ for Vinashin’s VLCC debut once the second dry dock at its Dung Quat shipyard is up and running in 2010.
