Turkey: Shipyard deaths continue in different workplaces

İ﹔smail kı﹔rlangı﹔ç﹔, 49, fell ｆrom a ship in the marmara shipyard in the western province of kocaeli＇s kö﹔rfez district wednesday evening, doğ﹔an news agency reported. heavily injured, kı﹔rlangı﹔ç﹔, a father of two, was hospitalized but could not be saved. the prosecutor＇s office in kö﹔rfez has initiated an investigation into the incident. meanwhile, a shipyard in tuzla was closed down thursday for not having taken proper safety measures, the anatolia news agency reported. ç﹔eksan shipyard has 20 days to implement the necessary safeguards.
currently, explosive chemical materials are not properly guarded, electricity cables pose a risk of electrocution, workers are at risk of falling because there is no barrier ａnd the workplace ceiling is at risk of collapse, a report of the ministry commission investigating the shipyard stated.
