Ulstein: Arrival of First X-Stern
Two Service Operation Vessels for the offshore wind industry are being constructed for Bernhard Schulte Offshore, Germany. The hull of the first vessel arrived Ulstein Verft on 3 January 2016.
The hull has been produced at the Crist yard in Poland, and will be completed at Ulstein Verft in Norway, with planned delivery in Q2, 2016. The vessel will work at the Gemini wind farm in the Netherlands for SIEMENS Wind Power Service.
The two sister vessels are the first X-STERN® vessels to date, the X-STERN being a further development from the X-BOW®.
The X-STERN concept was awarded Next Generation Ship Award in 2015.
