VOS Start keel-laying ceremony

We are pleased to announce that the keel-laying ceremony for VOS Start took place last week at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in China.

VOS Start is a subsea-support walk-to-work (W2W) vessel and the first of a new design, commissioned by Vroon to meet the increased demand for offshore people-transfer solutions.

The vessel can carry a total of 87 persons, offering accommodation and work space for up to 60 client staff. The concept is based on the principle of 750 m2 clear deck space. This deck space can be fitted with a W2W system, while at the same time leaving ample space for a variety of extra services. In addition, the vessel can be optionally equipped with a motion-controlled crane and workboats, supported by heave-compensated davits.

This new vessel generation is based on a Khiam Chuan Marine (KCM) design, is classed DP2 and complies to the latest SPS code regulations. The vessels are introduced in more detail in a recent VOS promotional film.

VOS Start is scheduled for delivery to the Company next year and will be followed by a sister vessel, VOS Stone.
