MHB secures RM324m worth of contracts
Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MHB) has secured contracts worth RM324 million to provide offshore structural component fabrication works and related construction work for facilities improvement project, as well as for marine repair and conversion works.
In a statement yesterday, MHB said the first contract is for the fabrication of substructures and bridge for the Baronia CPP-B project, including the substructure of jacket, piles, appurtenance and relevant auxiliaries and services, where it will be the subcontractor for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Ltd.
The second contract is the facilities improvement work that include hook up and commissioning, structural and mechanical retrofit and other related works and services, where the contract tenure is for two years from June 2015 until June 2017 with the option of a one-year extension.
Its third project is a repair life extension work and dry-docking for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier vessels for shipping company MISC Bhd, namely Puteri Intan and Puteri Delima.
Its final contract is the conversion of a vessel into a floating storage and offloading (FSO) facility for E.A. Technique (M) Bhd that entails demolition, refurbishment and installation works.
It said the vessel is expected to arrive at the yard in July 2015 and is targeted for sail-away by end of June 2016.
