Cosco Zhoushan lands bulbous bow modification deal for nine boxships
Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard has landed a deal to modify the bulbous bow of nine containerships, bringing its modification orderbook to 18 containerships.
The containership bulbous bow modification orders came France’s CMA CGM with eight units and Germany’s NSB with one unit, Cosco Zhoushan announced on its website.
To date, the Chinese yard has completed and delivered modifications to bulbous bow of 15 containerships with capacity ranging from 4,250-11,400 teu.
Cosco Zhoushan said that according to owners’ feedback, the modified boxships were able to reap fuel savings of up to 6% on average.
