China's ship plate demand to recover
China’s ship plate demand is expected to recover in this year. Combined new orders received by China’s shipbuilders in the first two months totaled around 18.08 million dead weight tonnes soaring by 259% compared to the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the completion of the export ship totaled 3.65 million DWT.
It is estimated the shipbuilding plate demand from shipbuilding industry will reach around 10 million tonnes this year. Total shipbuilding steel demand is expected to hit 13 million tonnes showing an increase of 18.2 % from a year ago.
