ZPMC Delivers Newbuild Pipelay Vessel to CNPC
China's Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd's (ZPMC) Oil Rigs and Wind Farm division recently delivered a pipelay vessel to China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
The “CPP 601” pipelay vessel, equipped with a 1,600 ton fully revolving crane and a stinger petroleum pipeline, is a special engineering ship that China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPPB) ordered so as to develop its marine lift and pipelay business.
"It is also the largest pipelay vessel in CNPC with the function of lifting, pipe laying and daily life support at sea," ZPMC said in a press release.
CPP 601's maximum lifting capacity is 1,200 ton when fully revolving, while its lifting capacity is 1,600 ton when lifting at sea.
"CPPB is a top-ranking pipeline engineering general contractor at home and abroad. The successful delivery of the vessel laid solid foundation for wider and longer cooperation of CPPB and ZPMC," ZMPC said.
CPP 601 will head for Africa on its maiden voyage and undertake a subsea gas pipeline construction project in Tanzania.
