Chongqing Donggang Marine Industry Co won an order to build five 3,500 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers from a returning customer.
The subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC) did not disclose the price of the deal but affirmed that the order would positively contribute to its revenue for the financial year 2013.
The shipbuilder claimed that the conclusion of the newbuilding order from the unnamed customer was the result of the yard's continuous focus on production quality and after-sales services.
