Drydocks World (DDW) has announced at least 14 appointments of Emirati nationals to more senior positions in the company, and the intention to recruit more UAE nationals.
The firm has launched a number of initiatives to try and get Emiratis into management positions, including a dedicated online recruitment portal, formal development of career plans, the Future Leader Program. DDW has also indicated that it intends to form closer links with tertiary education institutions, in order to recruit more graduates.
“We are very strongly committed to drive forward the vision of our leaders in ensuring the development of the national workforce already in our employ and providing career opportunities for new nationals who wish to join us.
“We have strong systems and processes in place to provide proper guidance and planning to enable nationals make a career with the organization. The encouragement and support provided by our senior leadership team to competent, committed and qualified nationals through coaching and mentoring ensures that our local population can look forward to building long term careers in the organization supporting out Future Leaders Program,” said Khamis Juma Buamim chairman of DDW.
Further “enhancements” are planned for the future.
