Sainty Marine announced yesterday that the shipyard, Nantong Mingde Heavy Industry and Nantong Runde Ship Engineering have jointly signed a shipbuilding contract for six woodchip carriers with Singaporean owner Nova Carriers.
Under the contract, Sainty Marine, Nantong Mingde and Nantong Runde are the joint sellers of the vessels. Nantong Mingde and Nantong Runde will build the vessels and Sainty Marine will acquire the vessels upon completion and sell them to Nova Carriers.
The price for each vessel is $38m, and the vessels will be delivered in 2016.
