Shipyard of Odessa port boosts revenue from ship repair in 2012
In 2012 Shipyard "Ukraine" of Odessa Commercial Sea Port obtained 17 million UAH revenue from ship repair activity, which is more than 14 times higher than in 2011 (1.2 million UAH). This was reported by the Director of the Shipyard Viktor Baskin to the Center for Transport Strategies.
The amount of funds earned for repair of non-port vessel increased 5 times compared to the previous year and reached 70% of total revenue in 2012. Net profit of the company amounted to 1.506 million UAH.
In 2012, experts of the shipyard repaired 52 ships, which is four times higher than in 2011 (12 units). Process downtime totaled 19 days per year (ie, the average time spent on the preparation for the next lift of the vessel is less than half a day).
