Sembawang Shipyard, Ecospec in green solutions collaboration
Sembawang Shipyard and Ecospec Global Technology have signed an agreement to provide customised and greener environmental solutions to the marine and offshore industry. The agreement comes in anticipation of a huge demand for green environmental solutions to meet international and local regulations, according to the two Singapore-based companies. Sembawang Shipyard, wholly-owned by Sembcorp Marine, will provide design and engineering expertise while Ecospec will offer technological developing capabilities to provide shipowners with innovative and effective green solutions for complying with regulations. A new state-of-the-art demonstration site will be erected in Sembawang Shipyard to simulate the various technological innovations from Ecospec. Ecospec has developed emission abatement technologies CSNOx, cSOx and CNOx, bio-fouling control BioMag, corrosion control ElMag and boiler water treatment ScaMag.
