Vietnam: Ministry offers $3.7b plan for shipbuilding
The Ministry of Transport had submitted a development plan for the shipbuilding industry to 2020 with a vision to 2030, with a total investment of VND74.5 trillion (US$3.7 billion), said Nguyen Hoang, head
of the ministry's Department of Planning and Investment.
The plan would give priority for investing in three centres for building transport ships, including four shipbuilding yards each in the north and the central region, and two in the south by 2020. The country will also invest in three centres for repairing ships.
