API Marine to supply integrated cargo control, monitoring and alarm system for 10 newbuildings
API Marine has signed a new contract with JSC Volgograd Shipbuilding Plant (Russia) for delivery of full Integrated Cargo Control, Monitoring and Alarm System for a series of ten oil/chemical tankers, ordered by Palmali Group of Companies (Turkey). The new tankers represent the third range of “Armada” type vessels, project RST22M with overall capacity of 8090 m3, and are designed for mixed river-sea transportation of petroleum products and vegetable oils.
The new vessels will be equipped with advanced API Marine equipment from combined level, pressure and temperature measurement in cargo tanks, using a unique self-calibration multi-functional unit – TGD (Tank Gauging Device), to monitoring and control of ballast tanks, service tanks, fuel and lube oil tanks with an integrated system, based on API Marine range of sensors and systems.
API Marine and Palmali Group of Companies have a long history of successful cooperation, established through previous supplies of full Cargo Monitoring and Alarm systems for the earlier Armada tankers built at shipyards in Turkey and Russia. The new contract further strengthens this cooperation, adding up to total of 40 ships in Palmali fleet, carrying API Marine equipment onboard. “Unique technology for API Marine is a house of competence, where development, design and production processes are united in unique solutions for advanced tank control and tank management. accurate and reliable tank gauging, developed by API Marine, based on guided acoustic principles, in combination with fast and flexible service support, securing overall reliable operation – has again proven to be the key points for the owner’s and shipyard’s decision”, – comments Sven Egelund Rasmussen, Managing Director of API Marine.
