Japanese plate demand to exceed 6 million tonnes in H2
JMB reported that Japanese plate demand will be 6.3 million tonnes in second half of fiscal 2010 ending Mach 2011 as the first half. As per report, the demand is expected to increase from originally expected around 6 million
tonnes in the first half due to firmer demand for shipbuilding and construction machinery than expected.
Japanese integrated steel makers and plate industry interests expect the demand could keep high in the second half while the domestic demand could slow.
