Daewoo Shipbuilding wins US$350 mln order for 3 bulk carriers
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., a South Korean shipbuilder, said Thursday it has won a US$350 million order to build three bulk carriers. Under the contract with an Asian shipping firm, Daewoo Shipbuilding, the world's second-largest shipbuilder, will deliver the ships by early 2013, the company said in a statement.
Daewoo Shipbuilding has won orders worth $3 billion to build ships and offshore facilities so far this year, taking the total order backlog to about $34 billion, the company said.
