Colombo Dockyard successfull in securing Van Oord, Holland dredgers for repairs

Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) has been successful in securing repeat business from Van Oord, Holland one of the biggest Dredger operators in the world. Currently Water Injection Dredger Sagar Manthan is undergoing lay –up repairs in the yard. This is the fourth Van Oord dredger  to utilize Colombo’s full-fledged repair facilities after Split Hopper Dredger Costa Blanca were successfully attended to during November last year (2009). 
Colombo has gained a good reputation amongst the dredger owners as a full service facility that can handle the full range of repairs on sophisticated dredgers. Located very strategically close to many dredging hot spots with the expertise and the facilities at hand , Colombo is an automatic choice.

Colombo Dockyard has been offering services to many international dredger owners in the recent past such as Dredging International-Belgium, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd., Dredging Corporation of India and Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V.  
Colombo’s positive developments on political and economic front have resulted in all previous travel advisories being removed, along with war risk notations being lifted. Thus creating a business conducive platform for Colombo to launch its repair and building facilities to a higher level catering to many ship owners from Europe /World over as against previously focused regional markets.
